Biography
Rodney O. Parks founded Parks Professional Group in 2008, drawing on a career spanning commercial banking, wealth management, and institutional philanthropy. His work connects two perspectives: how individuals and families make financial decisions, and how institutions build the trust and support necessary to advance their missions.
His early career in banking and at Merrill Lynch established a foundation in financial analysis, client relationships, and wealth management, including responsibility for a $25 million client portfolio. He served as chairman of the Arkansas State Banking Board and president of the Arkansas Tech University Alumni Association—leadership roles that shaped his approach to governance, financial discipline, and institutional responsibility. He was named to the 2007 Arkansas Business 40 Under 40 and was a member of the inaugural Leadership Arkansas class..
His higher education experience includes Rochester Institute of Technology, the University of Cincinnati, and Morehouse College, with leadership responsibilities spanning planned giving, principal and major gifts, leadership and annual giving, and donor engagement. He has worked within comprehensive campaigns with goals ranging from $500 million to $2 billion and has personally raised more than $25 million throughout his fundraising career. At RIT, he secured a $3.5 million blended gift combining current and planned support for scholarships benefiting women in science.
Rodney’s consulting and speaking work extends nationally and internationally, including a 2016 consulting engagement with Lahore University of Management Sciences in Pakistan. He received the 2017 CASE Crystal Apple Award for teaching excellence and has delivered keynote and featured presentations for audiences at the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners conferences, Association of Fundraising Professionals events, and UNCF. His perspectives have appeared in Arkansas Business, CASE Currents, and other publications.
Through Parks Professional Group and Philanthropic Architecture™, Rodney brings financial experience, institutional leadership, and an understanding of donor relationships to his advisory work. He helps clients clarify their goals, strengthen their capacity, and connect philanthropic intentions with practical action.
